Throwback Thursday. When it came to dancing, as a kid I was always sassy. I was for the most an extremely shy kid, however, when it came to that dancefloor hunny I was full of personality. At a certain point in my life, I believed a dance related career wasn’t really an option so when I started working in corporate america, I completely disregarded it. Life always has a way of coming full circle though. The urge kept poking at me. Finally, after a very long period of time, I decided to go back and get more professional dance training. I even did work study, in exchange for free classess, at two of NYC’s best dance schools. If that is not committment then I don’t know what is. Since that time I have shifted my focus from dancer, the person going on auditions for jobs, to choreographer, the person developing the dance. I have said it before and I will say it again. Dancing is my Roots. It’s who I am and it’s what I have always done the best. It’s why I came up with the name of my company Dance Roots Etc.
Here is a little throwback photo of little Elle Boogie Brown, that would be me. You can read more about my roots and my present on the Roots page of my website. http://dancerootsetc.com/roots/
I have posted this photo often but it is my very first performance in a fashion show when I was in pre-school and a photo of me on the dancefloor. They are both reminders of my roots.
Until next time,
Peace, Love and Dance.
